A perfect little fan book made in tribute to the Director Yasujiro Ozu from Muji’s People & Things pocketbook series. The book collects together photographs of objects identical to those prized by the Director: a customised tripod used in creating the famous ‘pillow shot’, a stopwatch, pique sun hat and bright red enamel kettle. Archival material is also given attention including Ozu’s drawing of a piece of tofu, storyboards and working notebooks as well as rare portraits of the master at work interacting with his cast on set.
